Currently, the approach to children as subjects of rights and protagonists of their own development has gained strength and attention in Chilean public education policies. The training of preschool teachers is fundamental to promoting the comprehensive development of young children, recognizing them as subjects of rights and protagonists of their own learning. The pedagogical curriculum proposes implementing active methodologies based on the guidelines for the subject of Physical Education, primarily focused on play, in the initial and ongoing training of preschool teachers. Collaborative work between training institutions, kindergartens, and technical teams is crucial to establishing a pedagogical culture that respects and promotes child agency in all its dimensions. Based on this approach, preschool teachers acquire a strategic role, as they are the professionals responsible for generating pedagogical experiences that promote well-being, participation, and comprehensive learning from the earliest years of education.
